Go go Gadget, peri style.
Hi loves,
The more time I spend in the ‘zone of chaos’, the more I realize how essential it is to have a wide range of tools and support during this season. Equilibrium is a moving target, so we must be willing to mix up our routines to meet the changing needs of our minds and bodies.
I am navigating some health stuff, and as part of the process I have had to set down some of my healthy coping mechanisms for a bit (lifting heavy, supplements, HRT). The upside is that I now have a clear understanding of how these habits have been supporting me and I can work to find alternatives. It has also helped reinforce the idea that healing is not linear, and that even ‘good’ habits are best in moderation.
As usual, everything is affected by peri-menopause but not everything is peri-menopause. You might need to switch up your hair products or skin care routine, you could need a different kind of exercise or to expand your food options or find a new type of practitioner. As our internal landscape shifts with fluctuating hormones, it is more important than ever to remain flexible and open to new approaches to our self-care.

Resources
Castor Oil
Traditionally used for detox, this nourishing oil is also great for your hair and skin. I have been mixing it with jojoba oil as a last step to lock in my skincare at night. My face is so soft in the morning and my eyelashes look longer. Just don’t drink it!
Herbal Tea Garden
I am not a confident gardener but this concept struck me in the whimsy. I love picking a few leaves to steep depending on my fancy, and if I can keep them alive for a bit it will save me some money too. I chose lemon balm, chamomile, tulsi and 2 types of mint.
