Hello loves,I have resisted creating a ‘niche’ in my practice because I enjoy working with all types of people and conditions, but it is time to admit that peri/menopause is my current focus (a micro-niche?). We are in the Wild West when it comes to learning about and supporting the menopause transition, which affects a growing demographic of our population (estimated 1 billion women by 2030). The algorithm is bombarding me with ads for products and companies targeting menopause, which is promising but also makes me wary. Whether this is a cash grab or a sincere effort to help women who are suffering, what is clear to me is that every experience is different and deserves a tailored approach rather than a one-size-fits all program or supplement. But then again I am a health coach. This period of shifting hormones is like that out-of-control feeling some of us might be experiencing with inflation; You are going about your daily routine, not doing anything crazy or indulgent but you notice that the results you are getting have changed. Suddenly you are racking up extra weight or losing sleep or feeling ‘off’ without altering your habits. You have to be more mindful of your threshold (or budget in this analogy) and might need a new strategy to adapt to this situation. We can’t change what is happening but we can have a different response with the right tools.
